  Mama always says it is fine to cry whenever you need to. Evee really needs to now because even though she cried in the trunk and at the lady’s house and with Lenny, she didn’t really get to cry because all those people, except Lenny were so scary. She didn’t want them to get mad and get meaner. But now she gets to cry enough to make herself feel better.

  She squeezes the bodies as hard as she can. Then she opens her eyes and the room is so bright. They put her down but it’s cold and she is scared again. She feels like the wave is smashing over her head again so she reaches up and cries for okaasan to pick her back up.

  Okaasan sits on the couch and squeezes. Evee rests her head on her favorite place on okaasan, her big soft chest.
